Analyst: Samsung Galaxy S8 will Use Screen 4K
In addition to chipset technologies, one technology that has also been growing in the smartphone screen technology. Besides the screen, the screen resolution is also on the increase, and it seems Samsung will start to wear 4K resolution in the next champion product candidates.
According to analysts of UBI Research, Samsung is expected to implement a 4K display for the first time in its new hero prospective smartphone Galaxy S8. The estimate comes after Samsung showed off a screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 4K at Display Week event which took place last month.
Panel 5.5-inch Super AMOLED tech remains as used in the previous Galaxy series. Currently Samsung is expected moderate increase production of the panel that has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels or pixel density of 806 ppi.
Samsung is known to wear a pattern of increasing resolution every release of two flagship. VGA resolution screen used in the Galaxy S and Galaxy S2, HD resolution (720p) on the Galaxy S3, Full HD for Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S5, as well as Quad HD for Galaxy Galaxy S6 and S7. Therefore 4K panel is likely to be installed in the Galaxy S8.
In addition to 4K resolution, Samsung touted is also preparing a smartphone with a folding screen. It is therefore interesting to see whether Samsung will release two innovative products at once in the beginning of 2017, most likely in the MWC.
