Although some rumors mentioned that ZenFone 3 will be ready to be revealed on 30 May, the day before Computex 2016 Asus CEO Jerry Shen announced just the opposite. Bad news mentions that 3 ZenFone series will be announced in June. In the interview with DigiTimes, Shen revealed that ZenFone family will continue to fill the mid-market segment.
Some time ago had there have been reports that most models in the family ZenFone 2 uses an Intel chipset which unfortunately was stopped being produced. To overcome this, ZenFone 3 will use MediaTek and Qualcomm chipset origin. Shen said that 90% ZenFone 3 models will be powered by Qualcomm and 10% of them are powered by MediaTek.
